V.I.V.A.: EVALUATION OF THE IMPACT OF VITICULTURE ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Rocca Sveva has undertaken a voluntary programme, promoted by the Ministry for the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea, which uses 4 indicators-growing area, air, vineyards, water to analyse the sustainability of our production.

Our commitment is to reduce use of weedkillers and fungicides as we make strides towards an agriculture that respects the environment and natural ecosystems as much as possible.

The objective is the continuous reduction of environmental impacts.

The Rocca Sveva winery has obtained VIVA certification

Here is an extraordinary growing area to the east of Verona, where grows some of the world’s finest and most prestigious DOC wines.

For the Rocca Sveva wines, striving for excellence starts right here, with soils and site: the vineyard parcels all lie in a band along the hillslopes, 100 hectares of vines that yield the best grapes. They are quite diverse, even as to soil composition, which makes a significant difference, since it is precisely what is required to create wines of different personalities. Our staff of agronomists and winemakers constantly monitors every detail, obtaining the maximum possible quality and traditional character.

The grapegrower’s love is a patient virtue, a love that knows how to wait, to adapt itself to the rhythms of nature, to its laws and, sometimes, to its caprices. Cultivating the earth demands dedication, commitment, persistence, and discipline.
